Morocco has become one of the easier long trips in US business aviation: Casablanca and Marrakech sit within non-stop range of the East Coast, handling is well practiced, and the paperwork is familiar. One item still surprises crews on their first Moroccan arrival, and that is disinsection.
Morocco expects arriving aircraft to be treated at departure
The Moroccan AIP lets an aircraft arriving from abroad land provided it was disinsected at departure, with the treatment recorded in the Health section of the General Declaration. The rule applies to every arrival, private and corporate aircraft included, and a second spraying on the ground follows only if the public health authorities judge it necessary. A flight from the US into Casablanca, Marrakech, Rabat or Tangier should land with the departure treatment done and recorded.
The context is regional. Morocco sits at the edge of the Mediterranean, where authorities have watched Aedes mosquitoes spread northward in recent years, and disinsecting arriving aircraft is part of the country’s vector-control posture. Morocco is not on the US DOT list and enforcement on US arrivals is not widely reported, but the rule is in the AIP.
Disinsection, briefly
An insecticide treatment of the aircraft interior, performed to a recognized method and recorded with a certificate. It is a different thing from cleaning and from disinfection, and only the disinsection record answers the question the arrival authority is asking. The governing reference is the World Health Organization’s Aircraft Disinsection Methods and Procedures, 2nd edition (2023).
Why this trip is the easy case
Flown non-stop, a US to Morocco sector is the simplest disinsection plan there is, because the AIP describes a treatment at departure, which is exactly what pre-embarkation is. The empty aircraft is treated at your departure airport with an EPA registered aerosol at the WHO dose before boarding, ventilated, and boarded after the required wait. The treatment covers the sector, the certificate rides with the flight documents, and the cabin is never sprayed with anyone aboard. There is nothing to arrange on the Moroccan side.

Arrival
Your crew completes the Health section of the General Declaration with the departure treatment details we hand them. Because the AIP specifies no method, product or validity, the crew also carries the certificate and the used cans, bagged and retained on board, in case the health officer asks. With that in hand the check is over quickly.
