Destinations That Require Aircraft Disinsection
Pre-embarkation is a WHO standard method accepted by a wide range of countries that require disinsection on arriving aircraft. These are the destinations we handle it for on flights from the US, with the treatment performed at your departure airport before boarding and the certificate issued for the flight.
One caveat, stated simply: pre-embarkation is performed at your US departure airport and covers that flight, so it fits non-stop flights from the US. For multi-stop international routings, and for a small number of destinations that require an on-arrival treatment we do not provide, we confirm the specifics when you send your trip. Australia and New Zealand carry operator paperwork we help with; start early.
Australia & Pacific

Australia
Australia disinsects every internationally arriving aircraft, without exception, under a schedule its biosecurity and health agencies publish jointly with New Zealand.

New Zealand
New Zealand requires disinsection of all internationally arriving aircraft and administers it through the Ministry for Primary Industries, alongside the same joint schedule Australia uses.

Solomon Islands
The Solomon Islands require disinsection on arriving international aircraft.

Cook Islands
The Cook Islands require disinsection on inbound international flights.
Europe & Mediterranean

Greece
Greece added mandatory aircraft disinsection in September 2025, which makes it the newest European requirement and the one operators most often have not heard about.

Italy
Italy requires disinsection on aircraft arriving from countries where the Aedes aegypti mosquito is present, and the United States is on that list.

Morocco
Morocco requires disinsection on arriving international aircraft.

Egypt
Egypt requires disinsection on arriving international aircraft.
Asia

India
India requires arriving international aircraft to be disinsected, and its airport health organizations check for the treatment on arrival.

Bangladesh
Bangladesh requires aircraft disinsection on arriving international flights.

Brunei
Brunei requires disinsection on arriving international aircraft.
Caribbean

Jamaica
Jamaica requires disinsection on inbound international flights and is one of the closest destinations to the US that does.

Barbados
Barbados requires disinsection on inbound international flights, and its port health officers expect the documentation to be aboard and available for inspection.
South America

Chile
Chile requires disinsection on inbound international flights and is one of South America’s most frequent business aviation destinations from the US.

Uruguay
Uruguay requires disinsection of arriving international flights, but it handles the treatment differently from most destinations on this site: the spraying is performed on arrival, by Uruguay’s own health authority, with everyone still aboard.

Paraguay
Paraguay requires disinsection on arriving international aircraft.
Frequently asked questions
Which countries require aircraft disinsection on flights from the United States?
Many do. We handle disinsection for US flights to Australia, New Zealand, Italy, India, Bangladesh, Jamaica, Chile, Barbados, Paraguay, Brunei, Morocco, the Solomon Islands, Egypt and the Cook Islands, among others. Requirements change; send us your route and we will confirm what applies.
Is this the full list of countries that require disinsection?
No. It is the list of destinations we serve with pre-embarkation treatment from the United States. Other countries have requirements too, some of which call for a treatment we do not provide. Send us your route and we will tell you plainly.
What if my routing stops somewhere before the destination?
Pre-embarkation is performed at the last port before the destination country, so multi-stop routings need a closer look. Send us the full itinerary and we will confirm exactly how the treatment should be planned.
