Who we are and what these terms cover
Pure Aircraft Disinsection is a division of Pure Aviation Detailing, based in Bentonville, Arkansas (we, us, our). These terms apply to every quotation, booking and treatment we provide, and to your use of this website. If you book on behalf of an operator, owner, management company or trip-support provider, you confirm that you are authorized to accept these terms for them.
The service
We perform pre-embarkation aircraft disinsection: the treatment of an empty aircraft at its United States departure airport, before boarding, using an EPA registered aircraft insecticide at the dose set out in the World Health Organization’s Aircraft Disinsection Methods and Procedures, second edition (2023), applied by licensed applicators. On completion we issue a signed certificate of disinsection listing the product and can serial numbers, together with the supporting documents described on this site, and the used cans are bagged and left aboard for the arrival authority.
We do not perform in-flight, pre-departure with passengers aboard, or on-arrival treatments, and we do not offer any method that is not lawfully available in the United States.
What the certificate does and does not do
The certificate records the treatment as we performed it. Whether a destination accepts a given method, and what it requires on arrival, is decided by that country’s authority, not by us. The requirement information on this site is compiled in good faith from published rules and written answers from national authorities, and we keep it current, but it is general information and not legal or regulatory advice. You remain responsible for confirming the current requirement for your destination, routing and date, and for presenting the paperwork on arrival. We do not guarantee that any authority will accept the treatment or that an aircraft will not be inspected, treated again or delayed on arrival.
Booking
A booking exists when we confirm it in writing, by email or text, after you have sent the destination, departure airport, date and aircraft type. Please book 36 to 48 hours ahead for most airports; some central US airports can be served with 12 to 36 hours of notice. Scheduled bookings made with several days of notice are held for the date confirmed. Departures from Alaska, Hawaii and United States territories are scheduled individually because the product travels as compliant freight.
Changes and cancellation
Tell us as soon as a departure time or date moves, and we will re-time the treatment with your crew. Because the treatment covers the flight it is performed for, a treatment that is completed and then not used is still chargeable. If you cancel before our crew has left for the airport there is no charge. If you cancel after our crew has traveled or product has been positioned for the booking, we may charge the travel and positioning costs actually incurred, which we will itemize.
Your responsibilities
So that we can treat the aircraft properly and on time, you agree to: give us accurate aircraft details, because the cabin volume sets the dose; arrange our access to the aircraft at the FBO or hangar, including any airport permit, escort or security requirement that applies to visiting service providers; have the aircraft empty of passengers and crew for the treatment and the ventilation period that follows it; have catering, cleaning and loading finished before we begin, so that nothing has to be reopened afterwards; and tell us about anything aboard that needs special handling, such as animals, food or medical items. Where a delay in access prevents the treatment from being completed before boarding, the consequences are yours, although we will always try to recover the schedule.
Safety and the right to decline
The product label and safety data sheet govern how the treatment is applied and how long the aircraft is ventilated before anyone boards, and we follow them. We may decline, pause or stop a treatment where conditions are unsafe for our crew or the aircraft, where people remain aboard, or where the aircraft or access is not as described. If that happens we will tell you why and what is needed to proceed.
Fees and payment
Fees are as quoted to you in writing for the specific booking and include the treatment, the paperwork package and our travel unless the quotation says otherwise. Invoices are due within thirty days of the invoice date unless we have agreed other terms with you. Taxes that apply are added where required by law. Accounts that remain unpaid may be placed on hold for future bookings and referred for collection.
Insurance and limits on our liability
We carry general liability insurance and will provide a certificate of insurance on request, naming an airport sponsor or FBO as additional insured where that is a condition of access. We are responsible for performing the treatment with reasonable skill and care and in accordance with the label, the WHO method and these terms.
To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability for any booking, however it arises, is limited to the fee paid to us for that booking, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including delay, missed departures, fines, arrival-authority charges, loss of use of the aircraft, or loss of revenue or profit. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence. You agree to cover us against claims arising from inaccurate information you provide or from access, permit or security arrangements that were your responsibility.
Records
We keep a record of each treatment, including the certificate issued and the product and can identifiers, for the period our insurance and professional obligations require, and we can supply a copy to you or, with your authorization, to an authority that asks for it. The privacy policy explains how we handle the details you send us.
