Aircraft Disinsection for Flights to India
India requires arriving international aircraft to be disinsected, and its airport health organizations check for the treatment on arrival. Long-range business jets flying from the US East Coast to Delhi or Mumbai need it planned into the departure.
Why the requirement exists
Dengue and chikungunya are endemic across much of the subcontinent, and India’s public-health rules for aircraft have treated cabin disinsection as a standing measure for decades. For an operator, the practical point is simple: the aircraft is expected to arrive treated, with paperwork the port health officer can read.
How we handle it
We treat the empty aircraft at your US departure airport, before boarding, and issue the certificate for the flight. India is a long sector, often flown non-stop from the East Coast on ultra-long-range aircraft; if your routing includes a technical stop, send it to us and we will confirm how the treatment should be planned.
Main international gateways: Delhi (DEL), Mumbai (BOM), Bengaluru (BLR), Hyderabad (HYD) and Chennai (MAA). Requirements can change; we confirm the current rules for your exact route before every treatment. Page reviewed August 2026.
Pre-embarkation at your US departure airport.
WHO-approved 2% permethrin aircraft aerosol, empty aircraft, before boarding, one flight sector, certificate issued on completion. Performed by our own team at your FBO or hangar, anywhere in the United States.
The service in detail →Tell us your route and we will confirm exactly what your aircraft needs.
Destination, departure airport, dates. We confirm the requirement, come to the aircraft, and handle the certificate.
Two things to settle before you file.
Routing. Pre-embarkation covers the flight it is performed for and is done at the last port before India. Non-stop from the US, that is your departure airport. With a stop en route, send us the full itinerary and we will confirm where the treatment belongs.
Timing. We can often accommodate short-notice requests, but a trip we hear about early is a trip we can plan around your boarding without compromise. Send the route as soon as it is likely.
What the arrival authority sees.
An aircraft that arrives treated, ventilated and boarded in the normal way, carrying a disinsection certificate in the format the destination accepts, with the treatment recorded on the crew’s General Declaration. Arrival becomes a formality. An aircraft that arrives without a verified treatment is typically treated on arrival with passengers aboard, under supervision, sometimes at the operator’s expense.

India disinsection questions, answered
Does India require disinsection on flights from the United States?
Yes. India requires arriving international aircraft to be disinsected, and pre-embarkation treatment at your US departure airport is a method that satisfies it. Send us your route and we will confirm the details.
What if we make a fuel stop on the way to India?
Pre-embarkation covers the flight it is performed for, so multi-stop routings need a closer look. Send us the full itinerary and we will tell you exactly how to handle it.
Can passengers be on board when the aircraft is treated for India?
Not for pre-embarkation. The aircraft is treated empty, before boarding, at your US departure airport, then ventilated. Passengers never see the process.
What do we carry on arrival in India?
The disinsection certificate we issue on completion, with the treatment recorded on the General Declaration by your crew from the details we provide. Keep the certificate with the flight documents so it can be produced on arrival.
