About Salt Lake City International Airport

Salt Lake City International serves the corporate operators of the Intermountain West with a busy business aviation ramp and long runways. Pacific and transatlantic departures leave from SLC, and the airport handles the largest business aircraft with ease.

Where the requirement comes from

SLC is where the requirement is satisfied for a non-stop flight, because pre-embarkation treatment belongs at the last port before the destination country. The arriving authority requires the aircraft to have been disinsected; treating it empty here, before boarding, meets that requirement for the countries that accept the method.

From SLC the requirement is mostly a Pacific one: Australia and New Zealand require disinsection on every arriving international aircraft, and the Cook Islands and Solomon Islands require it too. Many itineraries from Salt Lake City stop in Hawaii, which then becomes the last US port and the place for pre-embarkation treatment; non-stop departures are treated here at SLC. New Zealand, Italy, Jamaica appear on the list as well.

How it works on the SLC ramp

Once the plan is set we work directly with the SLC FBO and your crew on access, ramp position and timing. Our technician arrives before the agreed slot, confirms the aircraft is empty with catering and cleaning done, and applies the WHO pre-embarkation treatment through the cabin, flight deck and holds. After the specified rest and ventilation the aircraft is released for boarding, certificate in hand.
