Aircraft Disinsection for Commercial Airlines

An airline that flies from the United States to a country that requires disinsection needs the treatment done at the station, on the empty aircraft, inside the turnaround or the overnight, by people who understand ramp timing. That is exactly the shape of our service.

What an airline gets from us

Pre-embarkation disinsection performed on the empty aircraft at your US departure station, before boarding, to the method in the WHO Aircraft Disinsection Methods and Procedures, 2nd edition, using a WHO-approved, US EPA-registered aircraft aerosol at the WHO-specified rate for the aircraft type. Cabin, flight deck and holds are treated, the aircraft is ventilated for the required period, and the certificate is issued for the flight. Your crew records the treatment on the General Declaration from the details we hand them, and where your operation reports treatments to an arrival authority, we provide what your station needs to do so.

We work inside your existing ground operation rather than around it. Station managers and ground handlers tell us the aircraft’s arrival, cleaning and catering sequence and the boarding time; we slot the treatment between cleaning and boarding, and we clear the aircraft on time. For an overnighting aircraft the treatment happens in the evening or early morning window your station prefers.

Scheduled, charter and cargo

Scheduled operators with recurring departures to Australia, New Zealand, Italy, Greece, India or the Caribbean tend to want a standing arrangement at the station: a known crew, a known procedure and a predictable slot on each departure day. Charter airlines and ACMI operators, whose destinations change with the contract, want a provider they can call for a US station at short notice. Cargo operators need the holds treated to the WHO rate for the aircraft type, and the flight deck with them. We handle all three.

Australia and New Zealand

Both countries require the airline to hold its own arrangement covering how disinsection is performed and reported, and to name the applicators it uses. Most airlines flying there already have one; we work under it as your listed applicator at the US station and follow the procedures it sets out. If your operation is new to those routes, we help you put the arrangement in place and we start early.

The service

Pre-embarkation disinsection, in brief.

A WHO-approved, US EPA-registered 2% permethrin aircraft aerosol applied to the empty aircraft, cabin, flight deck and holds, at your US departure airport before boarding. The aircraft is ventilated and boards after the required wait. Valid for one flight sector. Certificate issued on completion; the crew records the treatment on the General Declaration from the details we provide. Performed by our own team, anywhere in the United States.

We handle disinsection for US flights to Australia, New Zealand, Italy, Greece, India, Bangladesh, Jamaica, Chile, Barbados, Paraguay, Brunei, Morocco, the Solomon Islands, Egypt and the Cook Islands, among others. Australia and New Zealand carry operator paperwork we help with; start early.

Questions

Questions we hear from commercial airlines

Can you treat within a normal turnaround?

That depends on the aircraft type, the turnaround length and how the cleaning and catering sequence is arranged. Tell us the station, aircraft and schedule and we will tell you plainly whether pre-embarkation fits inside the turnaround or belongs in the overnight window.

Do you treat cargo holds and freighters?

Yes. Holds are treated to the WHO rate for the aircraft type as part of the pre-embarkation method, and freighter main decks and lower holds are treated the same way, with the flight deck.

How do you work with our ground handler?

Directly. Once the arrangement is set we coordinate access, ramp position and timing with your station manager or handling agent, and we report completion to whoever your operation designates.

We already hold an Australian or New Zealand arrangement. Can you work under it?

Yes. We follow the procedures your arrangement sets out and are named as your applicator at the US station. Send us the details and we will align our procedure with yours.
